Security Forces Training

San Antonio, TX (2021)

I'm a life-long resident of Mesa, Arizona and a product of the Mesa Public Schools system. I am currently a student at Arizona State University working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. My experience as a student of MPS elementary, middle, and high schools has inspired me to run for Mesa School Board in order to ensure the same schools that contributed deeply to my success will continue to pioneer a culture of top academics and cultivate endless opportunities.

Since graduating from Mesa Public Schools, the values of dedication to the community instilled during my time there have not been forgotten and are evident in my work. I currently serve as a Security Forces Member (MASN) in the United States Navy, an experience which has provided me with a variety of guiding principles regarding teamwork, perseverance, and strength that I plan on also incorporating into my leadership style. While training in how to best serve my country, I have returned with an enhanced skill set and drive to best serve my community on a local level.

Owning and operating a small business in Mesa has allowed me to develop even stronger ties to the community and provided me with a unique perspective on preparing our students to enter the workforce. Additionally, my role as Corridor Specialist with Mesa’s Retail, Arts, Innovation, & Livability Community Development Corporation has allowed me to work alongside fellow small business owners to optimize the city’s growth through community engagement.

In addition, I have demonstrated commitment to the improvement of Mesa by serving on our city’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and on the Board of Directors for the Mesa Historical Museum. I had the privilege of serving as President of the Mayor’s Youth Committee and as Vice President of Dobson’s School Improvement Advisory Committee, as well as serving as a member of the Mesa Public Schools Bond and Override Advisory Committee. I also sat on the Arizona Department of Education's School Safety Task Force, where we developed a model school safety plan that was distributed to schools to support safer learning environments.

Mesa is my home, and with your support I wish to continue working to ensure our schools reach their highest potential in all areas.
